Independence

Commercial disclosure

Readers should be able to tell when money, products or access sit behind a link or story.

Editorial and commercial work are different

Payment, advertising, affiliate commission, gifted products or access should not buy a favourable editorial conclusion. Where a commercial relationship is relevant to a story, it should be disclosed clearly enough for a reader to understand the relationship before acting on the recommendation.

Affiliate links

If PakStyles uses an affiliate link, the article should identify that fact. A commission does not change the price a reader sees unless the offer itself says otherwise, and a product should not be described as tested unless PakStyles actually tested it.

Sponsored material

Paid-for or sponsor-controlled material should be labelled as sponsored or advertising rather than styled to look like independent reporting.

Gifted products and invitations

Relevant gifts, samples, press trips or hosted access should be disclosed when they materially affect how a reader would understand the coverage. Receiving access is not a guarantee of coverage or praise.

Prices and availability

Commercial information changes. Reviews and comparisons should date prices where practical and distinguish a manufacturer claim from an independently established fact.
